Happiness & The Power of Focussing on What You Want

Imagine if you could have anything you wanted, feel anything you wanted and be anything you wanted. Open up your mind to a new way of thinking and you might be surprised by what happens.

WHEN YOU open up your mind to new ways of thinking, then you'll be putting your brain's Reticular Activating System to work, and that can be the difference between a good day and a bad day.

I constantly talk about being an empowered woman and what it means. Empowerment refers to our feelings about ourselves and the story we tell ourselves about our own lives and about the world.

The story I have been telling myself lately has been negative and disempowering and the story we tell ourselves about our lives informs and influences what we see.

Our brains are incredibly complex, sifting through billions of bits of data at any given moment. The Reticular Activation System - a bundle of nerves at our brainstem - helps to organise this information.

The RAS is the reason why, when you find a nice top you like online, you then see it everywhere or why you can notice someone saying your name in a far corner of a loud room.

By setting intentions, focussing on your goals and positive reflection through writing I believe you can train your RAS. For me, making these small changes have made a  very real and positive impact on my life by showing me the power of embracing positive thinking.

If you committed to remaining open to, and nurturing positivity you will start to see positive things. When you look at it this way, The Law of Attraction doesn’t seem so airy-fairy.

We often forget just how powerful our minds are and that it is possible to train our mind to embrace the power of positive thinking. What you focus on expands. It’s not magic, it’s your Reticular Activating System influencing the world you see around you. By changing the way you think, your entire life can change.

Since I have become more open to joy, love and happiness again I have started to see it all around me. And this is what being an empowered woman is all about; taking control of the narrative and writing our own story.
